Inside a recently-renovated apartment in the center of Turin, two bathrooms re-interpret ceramic marble effect. Next to 1920s-style faucets sits this lapped porcelain stoneware, creating a sophisticated mix of design styles in this elegant home. For both rooms, the designer paired two contrasting colors from the Elements Lux collection, such as the white of Calacatta and the black of Port Laurent.
The black-white contrast fits well with the intense green of the ceiling and walls, and with the choice of a slender format like the 20x120cm. Staves are laid on both the wall and the floor: in the first case, Calacatta tiles create a panelled ‘boiserie’ effect; in the second, the same Calacatta range alternates with Port Laurent in a herringbone pattern. The movement of the light-dark and zig-zag pattern helping to broaden this compact space.
